TORONTO, December 15,2003-Jie Matar and his team of beauty makeover specialists will be providing hair, makeup and manicures for six dis-advantaged woman whose spirits and self-esteem have been shattered and decimated by violence.
Says Matar;
“ I want every woman to feel they have the potential to be beautiful, especially during the holidays. Christmas is a time for feeling joy and happiness, not isolation, devastation and fear.
Interval House provides the basic necessities of life and I hope to provide the frills”
Jie Matar is President and Creative Director of one of Canada’s premiere beauty destinations. The salon is located at 38 Avenue Rd. JIE has an elite and diverse clientele that includes leaders in the fashion, beauty, lifestyle and health care industries. Recent clients include Kim Cattrell, Sir Ridley Scott, Jennifer Tilley, Nathalie Baye, Nick Stahl and Jacynthe. He has been called the “God of Hair” in Toronto Life and has been a contributing stylist to programs on City TV, CTV, Canada’s Walk of Fame and the Toronto Film Festival. Interval House is Canada’s first shelter for woman and children and has a well-established history for providing women and children an escape from family violence.
Open 365 days a year and staffed 24 hours a day Interval house ensures woman and children have an interval of sanity and safety that helps them heal not only the brutal physical wounds, but much deeper “invisible” wounds of damaged spirits and self esteem. Interval House seeks to raise $4 million over the next five years to build increased capacity and new programming.
